When I need a structured cabling company, what things should I consider?
What makes a good digital video surveillance system?
What should I look for in a VOIP service?
What should I expect it to cost me on a cabling job?
The cost of a cabling job can vary widely depending on the scope and complexity of the project, as well as the specific cabling company you choose. Here are a few factors that can affect the cost of a cabling job:
On average, a cabling job can cost anywhere from $500 to $10,000 or more, but it’s important to keep in mind that this is just a rough estimate, and the actual cost will depend on your specific needs and the cabling company you choose. It’s always best to consult with a professional or shop around for quotes to get an accurate idea of the cost for your business. A typical cable run rate is somewhere around $150-250 per drop.
What types or styles of DVR/NVR cameras are best for my business?
It’s always best to consult with a professional to determine the best type or style of camera for your specific situation and business needs.
Can I use my existing phones with a voip system?
Yes, it is possible to use existing phones with a VoIP system, but it depends on the type of phone and the VoIP system you are using.
Analog phones, which are traditional phones that use a telephone line, can be used with a VoIP system by connecting them to an Analog Telephone Adapter (ATA). The ATA converts the analog signal from the phone into a digital signal that can be transmitted over the internet, allowing you to make and receive VoIP calls using your existing phone.
Digital phones, which are phones specifically designed to work with a VoIP system, can also be used with a VoIP system. These phones connect to the system using Ethernet cables and they can be provisioned to work seamlessly with the VoIP system.
In addition to traditional and digital phones, some VoIP systems also support the use of softphones, which are software-based phone clients that can be used on a computer or mobile device. This allows users to make and receive calls using their existing devices, such as laptops or smartphones, without the need for a physical phone.
Before you decide to use your existing phone with a VoIP system, it’s important to check the compatibility of the phone with the VoIP system and check the features of the phone will work with the VoIP system.
How many cameras should I be looking at for my small business in a DVR setup?
As a general rule of thumb, it’s recommended to have at least one camera for every 1,000 square feet of space, but it’s always best to consult with a professional or do a site survey to determine the exact number of cameras needed for your specific business.
It’s also important to keep in mind that having more cameras doesn’t necessarily mean better coverage, the key is to have the right cameras placed in the right locations and to have a good camera coverage plan.
